Illustrator Homework 1

In the first video, I like how he started off with the keyboard shortcuts because they save a lot of time. Some of my favorite tools so far are the scaling tool, which expands or shrinks the object from two axes, and the selection tool which selects the object and lets you change the size and shape of the object. Another one of my favorite tools is the star tool which I actually learned about in my senior year of high school, and it was my graphic designer teachers favorite tool. Although I found it super confusing when I learned it the first time the video also explains the difference between the selection and direct selection tool which will really be helpful when I start using it. He also brings up the lasso tool and I remember how essential that one was in high school.  The second video goes into detail about the artboard tool. I think personally its the most essential tool in illustrator. She goes into detail about how to resize and add new artboards. She also talks about the ref

Canvas Project - Chaos

This is my piece, Chaos. As you can see there is no distinct image. I chose to leave it up to the viewer as too what they wanted to see. The reason I choose to do this was because I wanted to create a piece that reflected my current feelings.  I used different shapes to signify all the different aspects of my live at the moment. I used different colors to show the individuality of the issues. I chose to make this piece to show how the current state is affecting me personally. From me not being able to see close friends and family anymore, to try

The Internet Vs The Web

Jocelyn Crum  FMX210 September 1, 2020 Prof. Roundtree The Internet Vs The Web The internet is described as the global system of interconnected computer networks that communicate through networks and devices. According to LiveScience no single person invented the Internet, instead it was “the result of years of collaboration among computer scientists, researchers and engineers.”  The creation of one of the most essential aspects of our lives today started as far back as the 1930s. Belgian information expert Paul Otlet was the first to come up with the ideas that resemble those behind the Internet. He theorized a “Radiated Library” that could “connect TV watchers to encyclopedic knowledge through telephone signals.” The modern day Internet has its roots in the early 1960’s. With the Cold War in full swing, J.C.R. Licklider, a computer scientist formulated ideas about global networking in a series of memos, he described as “Intergalactic Computer Network”. These ideas landed Licklider
